UKMC's Response to COVID-19

Keeping our customers, staff and their families safe is always at the forefront of our thinking. As a result of this we wanted to share with you some steps we are taking in response to COVID-19. By streamlining how we work and limiting the number of staff working on our property, we have initiated some preventative measures to ensure a clean and healthy working environment.

1. Clean & Healthy Working Environment

First off, we have greatly increased our cleaning efforts. Every member of staff is washing their hands on a regular basis. All packing/sorting areas are thoroughly cleaned with sanitizing solutions multiple times per day and our packaging it easy to wipe clean. We have also allowed, where possible, for people to work from home instead of coming into the office. This has reduced the number of people on site and decreased the chain of distribution right down to the minimum. We have had no reported illness so far and will strive to do everything possible to ensure this continues.

2. Closure of Bricks & Mortar Shop

Unfortunately due to Government guidelines we have had to temporarily close our bricks and mortar shop in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Our website, mail order and customer services will still be operating as normal. We understand that this could badly affect some of our professional customers and will do our best to find a solution. Please call or email us, details below, if you urgently require assistance. Our shop will be open again as soon as possible but due to ever changing circumstances, we have not yet set a date.

3. Strengthened our commitment

Thirdly, we strengthened our commitment to our customers. We will not be raising prices based on demand and are working hard at keeping all stocks at their usual levels.

4. Improved Aftercare

We have reviewed the customer aftercare on our website. With Free Delivery on orders over £30, easy returns for up to 100 days (if the product is unused and with tags) and customer service operators both on the phone and by email (9am to 5:30pm, Monday to Saturday).

We understand the challenges you are all facing, as we are also facing them ourselves too. It's obvious that our usual habits will be affected. Faced with these challenges, UKMC is determined to succeed and continue to Be Ready for Action.
